CATERING at Active Tameside’s leisure facilities has been brought in house.
And there was a special launch in Stalybridge for Active Copley Fuel, the cafeteria area at the sports centre.
It is now known as Fuel with the slogan ‘nourish, hydrate, enjoy’ – the creation of brand manager Simon Hadfield and his marketing team.
Cobbs, a hand made bakers from Loch Ness in Scotland, sent down a selection of the goodies. They are providing most of the baked items for sale with Bidfood also a major supplier.
Copley is joined by Active Hyde, Medlock, ITrain at Dukinfield and Mottram’s Total Adrenalin in taking catering in-house as their cafes will all be known as Fuel.
Lee Whittaker is the catering manager for all five catering outlets, with Copley alone having 30 staff.
He described Copley as the flagship as it has the greatest number of users, an estimated 800 visitors each day. It has 2,000 members who use the gym.
Lee also points to Fuel being awarded the Greater Manchester Healthier Catering Award as it has achieved a five star food hygiene rating.
