Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham, is putting himself in the firing line at a special ‘Tameside’ Question Time on Wednesday, January 24.
So, if you want to get something off your chest or to discuss the future of Stalybridge, now’s your chance.
Mr Burnham will hold a question time event in the week before every Combined Authority meeting in the area in which the meeting will be held.
The question time event for January will be held in Tameside at Tony Downes House, Greater Manchester Pension Fund Building, Droylsden.
Partnered with key regional media, the event aims to highlight and answer questions on local issues, posted by members of the public.
This is your opportunity to have a voice on the concerns that matter to you.
– You can attend the session and pre-ask your question when you apply for tickets.
– You can join in remotely by either emailing your questions to email@example.com or through twitter on #AskAndyGM
– You can attend the session and ask your question in person.
Over the next twelve months, Mr Burnham will hold a question time event in each local authority area in Greater Manchester.
The event opens at 7pm. You will need to be seated by 7:20pm for a prompt start at 7:30pm. The session will be live-streamed onto the Mayor’s Facebook page and the Mayor’s Twitter feed @MayorofGM.
We may run out of time to ask all questions that have been raised. If this is the case, we will try and combine similar or related questions together.
You must submit your question for the event by Friday, January 19.
Ticket sales will end on Monday, January 22.
I came last month – can I come again?
We’re asking that people don’t attend more than two question time events in a six-month period. This is just so that different people have an opportunity to come along and ask questions. Obviously, if you’re not able to attend then you’re still more than welcome to watch it online through the live stream and participate via #AskAndyGM on social media.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No. But the event will be live-streamed, so people who attend ideally need to be comfortable to sit for around an hour and half.
What can I bring into the event?
Yourself and your questions. You’re also welcome to bring your phone in with you, so that you can join in with the questions online at the same time using the hashtag #AskAndyGM. But we do ask you to put it on silent, so not to disturb the livestream.

We will be providing brews to everyone who comes – these will be available from 7pm until the question and answer session starts at 7.30pm.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You don’t need to have it printed, but an electronic copy of the ticket (via your smart phone / tablet) would be great, so that we can tick you off our attendee list and also identify if you are someone who has raised a question in advance.
