Coaching the coaches at Manchester United

STALYBRIDGE Celtic Juniors’ managers recently attended a ‘coaching the coaches’ session at Manchester United’s academy.

It was aimed at making football sessions more fun and engaging. This is the fourth one the juniors’ coaches have attended at The Cliff.

Meanwhile, the club thanks everyone who donated food to their Christmas hamper appeal.

With donations from both the senior and junior clubs, they were able to put 16 hampers together, which were distributed through the Holy Trinity Church foodbank to some of the town’s most vulnerable families.

Elsewhere, the Juniors’ new pan-disability group got off to a great start with a new kit sponsored by Tameside Council, which was presented to the club at last month’s Town Council meeting.

Weekly sessions take place at Copley Recreation Centre astroturf pitches every Tuesday between 6pm-7pm. Places are available, call Mike Taylor for further details: 07714 459156.

Congratulations to the U8s Colts Blues and Whites on their fantastic achievement, winning their Manchester Youth and Mini Soccer Trophy Festival cups.

The Blues clinched their cup in the final game of the tournament with a draw against the second-placed team. The Whites, in their first season together, were undefeated in their tournament.
