WILLOW Wood’s Big Bike Ride is proving to be even more popular this year than ever.
Its partnership with Tour de Manc has meant they’ve been able to provide a bigger and better choice of routes to give cyclists at every level a fantastic ride.
There are four different routes on Sunday, May 20, and whether you’re a youngster wanting to take part in your first mass cycle on a flat cycle track or an experienced and committed cyclists taking part in our longest and most challenging 48km route, make sure you book soon to get the early bird discount.
Until 31 March it’s just £6 to enter the shortest route – the 1km cycle track at the Roy Oldham Sports Village – and it’s up to you whether you do one or up to a maximum of eight circuits.
The three road routes, which increase in both length and difficulty and come in at 16km, 35km and 48km, are all just £10 with the early bird offer, so sign up before they rise to £15 (£10 for the track event).
You’ll then be able to sign up online easily, quickly and securely. Once registered you’ll get a sponsor pack.
Chris Hayden, event organiser, said: “We’re hoping that everyone who enters will be able to raise at least £50 in sponsorship for us.
“Our community of fundraisers is so important to us – we wouldn’t be able to care for so many people in Tameside and Glossop without their help.
“However, if you’re not sure whether you’d be able to raise sponsorship we can send you one of our new fundraising cards And the good thing about them is that there’s a cash prize for the winner as well!”
