INDIVIDUALS and small businesses dealing with Computing Solutions, an Ashton-based laptop and PC repair specialist, can do so with confidence.
The company is Trading Standards approved through the ‘Buy With Confidence’ scheme as it strives to offer a friendly, personal and efficient service to home users and small business customers.
Paul Nixon, who founded and has run the business since 2001, prides himself on the personal touches he offers.
Paul has worked in computing for more than 30 years and strives to turn around most jobs by the next working day if repairs are not able to take place in-situ. He also provides an on-site collection and delivery.
Whether it is virus removal, data recovery, installations, upgrades or servicing, Paul can help. He also offers a full recycling and refurbishment scheme for used computers and laptops.
Paul says customer service is paramount, explaining: “A large percentage of my customers are retired and have embraced the technology, in a positive way.
“And while we live in a modern technology world, I like to offer old-style service. I do as much or as little as they require and agree fixed costings on the work before it starts.”
He is also able to resolve some problems remotely, something that can save a call-out for existing customers.
Paul, 54, added much of his work comes from recommendations of family and friends of his customers.
He described it as an ever-changing landscape in which you have to move with or be left behind in this throw-away world.
Paul explained: “In the 1980s I used to work with Apple Macs that ran off floppy disks, the capacity of one disk was not the size of one photo on a modern phone.
“The size of files and resolutions have changed massively. It is like digital television, eventually old-style ones will not work.”
