Tameside to salute service personnel past and present on Armed Forces Day

TAMESIDE will once again salute service personnel past and present on Saturday (June 30) when the borough celebrates Armed Forces Day in Denton, with support from the Ministry of Defence.

The event starts at 1pm around the bandstand in Victoria Park where live entertainment will be provided by Denton Band, the Dave Egerton Band, TMS Brass, TMS Big Band, the Do-Your-Thing Choir and poet Albert Taylor.

In addition there will be a wide range of free family-friendly activities, including a climbing wall, inflatable-assault course, face-painting, balloon modelling, arts and crafts.

Many service support organisations will also be in attendance including the Tameside Armed Services Community and Royal British Legion. Refreshments will be available from Victoria Park Community Centre.
