STALYBRIDGE Archery Club is proud of the achievements of its junior members.
Harry Kelly, Fearne Hinchliffe and Joshua Borders were selected for Cheshire juniors after winning a number of county competitions. They have recently competed successfully in a number of inter-county target tournaments.
The Lear Brothers, together with Harry Wardle and Aneka Mayer, are champions at county, regional and national level for clout archery – essentially shooting at a very small flag in the ground which is a very long way away.
They are all in the top places in the 2017 national junior rankings.
For her top placing for two successive years, Aneka was named 2017 Cheshire junior of the year.
As if that wasn’t enough, Jack Spence, 18, used his skills at archery towards securing his bronze, silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh awards. He has recently returned from Buckingham Palace having received his gold.
The club has many more skilled juniors waiting in the wings for a call-up to shoot at county level.
