LORRAINE Hardwick has left Lockside Medical Centre after working at the practice for 34 years.
She arrived at Lockside aged 15 on a youth training scheme and eventually became assistant practice manager.
Dr Richard Bircher said: “Lorraine was a very well-loved member of the practice and the community.
“She has been so important in setting the culture of our practice and we will miss her lots, but also wish her the best in her new job.
“One of Lorraine’s jobs was to look after the trainee doctors and medical students. We have had 40 such future doctors under our care over the last 20 years.”
There was a farewell held at Richmond Tea Rooms, Manchester.
