THE seaside is to be recreated at Holy Trinity, Stalybridge.
The church is once again hosting ‘Holiday at Home at the Seaside’ on Wednesday, August 15 and Thursday, August 16.
It is described as “just like the seaside” without having to leave land-locked Stalybridge.
As the theme is the seaside and funfair, there will be side shows, singer each day, ballroom/barn dancing, craft activities, pampering treats, reading corner, draughts, dominoes, jigsaws and a photo board
“There will be all sorts of activities you do when on holiday,” explained Janet D’Anzi, one of the organisers.
The annual event, that began in 2013, was organised to help combat loneliness in the community.
Initially there was about 35 each day attending, but last year the figure was 65.
Janet said: “Once a year is not enough but, once people have confidence to come to church, they will see there are many other activities.
“And in September we are hoping to organise a regular drop-in centre.”
The cost is £5 each day and that includes a two-course lunch, afternoon tea and cakes, entertainments and activities as well as a souvenir photo.
Booking forms can be obtained from Janet D’Anzi by calling 0161 303 7024 or 07961 520491.
