Staff threatened at Stalybridge shop with knife

Greater Manchester Police has launched a public appeal for help following an incident in Stalybridge. 

At approximately 3.35pm on October 5, a male walked in to Quality Save on Melbourne Street and threatened staff with a large knife for cash from the till.

Staff retreated and the offender left empty handed.

There were numerous people in the area at the time who may have seen the offender prior to the incident or not long after.

He is described as; White male, stocky build, black bobble hat, scruffy ginger stubble and general unshaven appearance around 30 years old with a local accent.

He was also wearing a white zip bomber jacket with black trim around the bottom at the front, light grey tracksuit bottoms and black pumps on. He was carrying a white JD sports string bag.

PC Summerfield who is investigating this incident said: “If anyone has any information, dash cam footage or anyone who may have sighted this male prior to the robbery or even after will greatly assist with enquiries.”
