Stayley U15s crowned champions

STAYLEY emerged victors as they hosted the Greater Manchester Cricket League’s U15s Finals Day.

In their semi-final, Stayley defeated Royton by 50 runs.

They made 144-7 before restricting Royton to 94-9.

Ben Fox hit 48 and Jake Barlow 44 for Stayley while Ben also finished with 2-6 off four overs while Tom Parker claimed 3-22.

In the second semi, Glodwick beat Austerlands by nine wickets.

Stayley were even more impressive in the final when they beat Glodwick by 10 wickets.

Glodwick were restricted to 59-8 and Stayley knocked them off without loss, reaching 65-0.

Ben was again the star hitting an unbeaten 40 while Jake was 21 not out.

Jake took 2-8 off three overs, Tom 2-10 off four and Dillon Fitzpatrick 2-4 off four overs.

Bill Elkin, GMCL league representative presented the trophies and medals and Bobby Denning, from the Lancashire Cricket Foundation, was also in attendance.
