MORE than 100 people attended the latest Willow Wood Hospice fundraiser ‘Another Trip Down Football Memory Lane’ night at Dukinfield Rugby Club.
Local football heroes Karl Marginson, Les Sutton and Peter Wragg entertained the gathered football addicts with stories about ‘horses on roads’ to ‘hairdryer treatment’ by football managers and had the audience in stiches.
Just over £1,000 was raised for Willow Wood Hospice on the night.
Organiser Brian Wild said: “I never cease to be amazed at the generosity of the footballing people in Tameside fans and clubs alike.
“We had people there from every part of the borough and every local semi-pro football club helped with prizes.
“There are so many people to thank. It’s hard to know where to begin but I must single out former Premier League referee Roger Dilkes for his excellent work as compere on the evening.”
