Vintage Celtic going strong

VINTAGE Celtic, Stalybridge Celtic Foundation’s over-50s walking football team, has set up another weekly session at Astley Sports Village, Dukinfield.

Vintage Celtic can now offer two weekly sessions at Active Copley, Stalybridge, on Monday (6pm-7pm) and Astley Sports Village on Wednesday (11am-noon).

Both sessions are open to male and female players over 50 years of age and are £3 per player per session.

Along with the weekly sessions, Vintage Celtic have been busy of late, taking on Oldham Athletic FC walking football team in a friendly on the pitch at Boundary Park, losing 1-0 to a goal in the last minute.

They have also been attending the monthly fixtures of the over-60s Greater Manchester Walking Football League.

Vintage Celtic have teams booked in for the Life Leisure walking football tournament and the Chadderton FC competition so there are lots of opportunities to play.

All sessions have a qualified Manchester FA walking football referee with a strong emphasis on no running and non-contact.

For more information on Vintage Celtic or to get involved, follow them on Twitter @VintageCelticWF or Facebook: Stalybridge Celtic Foundation Vintage Celtic.

  1. I am interested in playing walking football. Would it be at all possible for me to come and see someone about participating.
