STALYBRIDGE St Paul’s first team remain on course for promotion from division three of the Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League.
After winning three of their last four games, Stalybridge have opened a 14-point lead at the top of the table.
A disappointing defeat at Chapel-en-le-Frith was followed by consecutive victories over Hollingworth, Offerton and Pott Shrigley.
Batting performance of the month came from Mike Whitworth who hit a sublime 86 in the victory against Hollingworth, with Rob Mallett smashing a quickfire 50 in the same game.
James Brady has again been the pick of the bowlers, particularly during his six for 40 versus Hollingworth.
The T20 competition saw one win and one loss, with the highlight being Joe Robinson smashing 72 not out at Newton.
Stalybridge’s second team picked up their first win of the season at Compstall in the battle of the bottom two in division five, but also suffered defeats in the other fixtures, although one of these was by just only five runs against Dinting.
Stand-out batting performance was Stuart Nock hitting an unbeaten 139 not out against Birch Vale, with Jordan Elliott picking up his maiden senior 50 in the win at Compstall.
Ahmed Hayat has been the top second-team wicket taker with two four-wicket hauls.
