BAMBER BRIDGE 2
SCOTT Bakkor was at the heart of everything as Stalybridge Celtic held on for a welcome win.
The forward set up Matty Wolfenden’s early opener before finding the net himself just before half-time.
But it was Neil Kengni’s 64th minute strike that proved the clincher as Bamber Bridge refused to go away.
Kieran Charnock cancelled out Wolfenden’s opener after just six minutes and Ryan White’s deflected effort made sure of a nervy finish at Bower Fold.
Celtic had plenty of chances to win by more and Wolfenden hit the crossbar.
Bakkor then dragged a glorious chance wide with his weaker foot after a brilliant 30-yard run.
However, Simon Haworth’s men eventually hung on for the victory that boosts their Evo-Stik Premier Division campaign.
