A woman has died after a collision in Stalybridge.

Yesterday afternoon (Monday 4 February 2019), the 40-year-old woman, who was involved in a collision with a white Daihatsu Hi-Jet van, sadly died.

The collision happened around 10.45pm on Saturday 2 February on Darnton Road, near to the junction of Ash Grove.

The driver of the van stayed at the scene and no arrests have been made.

Police Constable John Harrison-Gough of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts, as they were at the time of the collision, remain with the woman’s family.

“In just a number of days, their lives have been turned upside down, losing a much loved member of their family.

“Our investigation into the circumstances will continue so I’d ask anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.”
