CAR OWNERS have been warned to beware keyless crooks after they struck in Carrbrook.
A Ford Kuga was stolen off a couple’s driveway on Wednesday, February 13.
Now the couple whose vehicle was taken has warned other people whose cars operate with a keyless ignition to take extra care.
Those responsible are believed to have used a device that picked up a signal and recreated it so they could gain entry.
Now they say police believe owners should take extra steps to make sure they do not fall victim.
The couple, whose grey car was taken, said: “Advice from the police is to keep keys in a tin box or buy a wallet off the Internet.
“The more people who are aware of this the better.
“Some people just have no regard whatsoever for other people belongings!”
