A NEW spring show is to be held at Cheetham Park, Stalybridge.
Having arranged a very successful Stalybridge Carnival last year, the new members of Stalybridge Festival Committee have decided to not rest on their laurels.
In addition to working hard with planning a fun-packed weekend of activities for carnival weekend (June 22,23) to include the grand final of the Tameside Search For A Star talent contest being
hosted in Armentieres Square on Saturday, June 22, the festival committee has unveiled proposals to hold a spring show in Cheetham Park on Sunday, May 5.
Ian Cochrane, organising secretary, said: “This is a new event being organised by the committee to raise funds towards the cost of the carnival.
“We are planning a one-day family event in Cheetham Park building on the successful format we have in the park on carnival day.
“There will be live entertainment during the afternoon and a family fun fair along with a number of trade and community group stalls and hot food.
“We will also be holding a fun dog show from 1pm and would like to invite all dog lovers to come along to help us find the dog with the loveliest eyes, waggiest tail, the cutest puppy, best presented dog and best rescue dog.
“Let us hope the event proves very popular with local residents and they show their support and join in the fun and help raise extra funds towards this year’s carnival.”
