IT HAS stood for years in a Stalybridge park but what does it actually mean?
The concrete pillar has been at Cheetham Park since it opened in 1932 with a series of letters inscribed on it.
However, help is needed to actually work out what they are on about.
Local photographer Anthony Devlin spotted the writing on the post and was left in the dark about what it refers to.
Reading ‘ARVB BI (or is it an L?) NGSTO NEFORAS SES’ it certainly appears to be connected to something or someone, but what or who?
