Stalybridge Celtic have made a marquee signing with the capture of former Republic of Ireland defender Stephen O’Halloran.
The 31-year-old joins Celtic from FC United of Manchester where he made 45 appearances last season in the Vanarama National League North.
A former graduate of Aston Villa, O’Halloran played Championship football for Coventry City in 2010-11 while he also played for Stockport County and Salford City for whom he won promotion from the Northern Premier League in 2015-16, making 46 league appearances.
O’Halloran has represented his country at Under-15, 16, 17 and 21 level and in 2007 won full caps against Ecuador and Bolivia.
He becomes the third summer signing and joins central defender Ross Killock and midfielder Mark Lees from Scarborough and Ashton United respectively.
