Fatality on train line causes delays to services

British Transport Police has confirmed at 1:46pm today (August 29) they were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Milns Viaduct on the approach to Slaithwaite train station.

A spokesperson from Northern Rail has said some trains are stopped on the tracks at present.

Emergency Services are currently at the scene.

Transpennine Express state:

‘Unfortunately due to a fatality, all lines between Stalybridge and Huddersfield are blocked’

Services are expected to resume at 15:45
