STALYBRIDGE could become home to a new branch of fast food giant KFC after it admitted it is on a list of potential new sites.
Now talk is turning to where in the town it could go, with land close to the power station in Millbrook even being mentioned.
And finding where it will go could prove a nice little earner as the chain offers a £20,000 finder’s fee for property professionals who identify an appropriate site in the target areas.
Any potential location has to be a minimum of half an acre as a drive through requires 25 car parking spaces plus room for a delivery bay, disabled spaces and two waiting bays.
However, other sites will be considered, depending on size and location, with the £20,000 being handed over on ‘legal completion’.
A KFC spokesman said: “We always have a list of areas where we’re on the lookout for new restaurants.
“We know there’s loads of chicken lovers out there waiting patiently for the Colonel to arrive in their town so watch this space!”
