STALYBRIDGE Celtic Juniors Under-9s Blues and Whites attended a special training session at the Etihad Campus hosted by Manchester City coaches. The training session was the first of the season attended by a Celtic Juniors team and the players were accompanied by volunteer coaches Paul Thomond and Leighton Atwal.
It was the first of many training sessions to come as teams from across the club’s age groups will be invited to practise at the world-class training complex throughout the season as part of a strong relationship between the grassroots junior club and the Premier League champions.
After a summer of tournaments, friendlies and the club’s soccer school, all Stalybridge Celtic Juniors’ teams have started the 2019-20 season.
From U7s to U16s, including girls and pan-disability, this season the grassroots club has a total of 29 teams representing the town.
Anyone interested in attending the soccer school, which is for youngsters aged four to 12, training is every Saturday at the club’s home on Mossley Road from 10.30am to noon and costs £3.50 per week with no need to book.
