STALYBRIDGE MP Jonathan Reynolds has praised the town’s branch of Tesco for taking part in an autism hour scheme.
The store’s lights will be dimmed and the noise lowered between the hours of 9am and 10am on Saturday, October 12.
It is the second week running that Tesco Stalybridge has taken part in the initiative designed to create a calmer atmosphere and help shoppers who suffer from autism.
And Mr Reynolds has given the move his backing.
He said: “It’s fantastic to see Stalybridge Tesco taking active steps to be autism friendly.
“This will help lots of families and individuals and raise autism awareness.
“Of course, people on the autistic spectrum and those of us with autistic children need to shop whenever family life demands it.
“So let’s all take steps to increase our knowledge about neurodiversity and kindness to our neighbours.”
