Miss Slinkys and Mr Sleeks find their sparkle for the party season

SLIMMERS are ready to shine this Christmas party season in Stalybridge after achieving an amazing weight loss between them.

Across Slimming World’s five groups in the area, 96 stone has been lost by the winners of the most recent in-group competition.

Many members were nominated for the Miss Slinky and Mr Sleek accolades because of their outstanding individual results on the scales.

The annual competitions recognise members who have transformed both inside and out by becoming healthier and happier, slimmer and more confident.

All the winners were thrilled to win their awards and celebrated with other members at their group sessions.

Carole Galley said: “I’ve been looking forward to my granddaughter’s wedding and I attended knowing I have the confidence to wear a dress that I couldn’t or wouldn’t have last year.

“Now I’ve won the title of Miss Slinky I have even more to celebrate and can’t wait to go clothes shopping for the festive season.”

Lee Broadley commented: “Being voted for by the other members is really great because it’s thanks to their support every week that I’ve stayed committed to losing weight.

“As a man, joining a slimming group is quite a nerve-wracking decision but I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”

Slimming World’s Food Optimising healthy eating plan encourages members to satisfy their appetite on healthy foods like pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, fish, fruit and veg.

Slimmers are able to lose weight without going hungry and still enjoy treats without feeling deprived.

Kerie Threadgold is also celebrating lower blood pressure and a reduction in medication, a huge triumph and an early Christmas present for her.

Proud Slimming World consultant Maria Palma said: “Christmas is a time for getting dressed up and having a good time.

“However, I know a lot of our members often dread it because they felt uncomfortable and out of place.

“This year we know all of our winners will feel completely different from previous years. We hope they’ll be accepting every invitation they receive and showing off their fabulous new zest for life.

“We have no doubt they’ll inspire other people to lose weight too and show whether you’ve got a little or a lot of weight to lose, slimming down can make a big difference to how you feel about yourself and really boost your confidence.

“All our winners are happier, healthier and fitter, and every week the groups love hearing about their progress.”

Brian Worthington wowed everyone with his Platinum Body Magic award, cycling a mile every day, which he couldn’t have done before losing six stone.

Hazel Grosvenor, a recent target member, is a whizz in the kitchen now and reveals to her group each week what she’s been cooking.

Kayley Wilding has astounded her group with her speedy weight loss of more than four stone in 40 weeks just by following recipes.

Both Mark Barton and David Bennison have cracked on with great weight loss journeys too, all because they joined their local Slimming World group.

And look out for Aileen Edwards who thought she was too old to lose weight but has lost more than her weight that’s for sure.
