St Raphael’s send aid to children in Africa

PUPILS from St Raphael’s have helped less fortunate children in Africa.St Peter’s Church member Rob White, through his 12-year involvement with the charity Mary’s Meals, launched an appeal at the Millbrook school.

They packed 18 back packs with stationery, toiletries, clothes and other useful items. Also given was a large quantity of school uniform.

Mary’s Meals is a registered charity, formerly known as Scottish International Relief, which sets up school feeding programmes in some of the world’s poorest communities, where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education.

It was founded in 2002 and has grown from its first feeding operation of 200 children in Malawi, to a worldwide campaign, providing free school meals in hundreds of schools and feeding more than one million children daily.

Mary’s Meals is named after Mary, the mother of Jesus, by its founders, who were inspired by their Catholic faith, although the charity is not a Catholic organisation.

  1. We started up with the idea of helping vulnerable children because giving and favouring is another way of praising God! In Across The Sea Children’s Hope iam the CEO and i sponsor 5 kids and am always there in situations to help where i can. Am calling everyone out there for your support towards these often forgotten kids in this organisation because now the organization needs funds to buy scholastic materials,to pay rent for the center,to pay school fees since the term is about to end, also to pay salaries for the staff members too!! We also need clothes, music instruments, bedsheets towels, blankets, shoes for about 350 extremely vulnerable children. Please any single Penny is greatly received with alot of joy by the organization and the kids; for more information on donate please inbox me or call +256754355546
