STALYBRIDGE Celtic Foundation has a new member of staff …. Stalysaurus!
Mascot Stalysaurus will be going out and about in the town to raise awareness of the football-based community activities carried out by the foundation, along with promoting Stalybridge Celtic Football Club.
Stalysaurus, who has been made by Stockport-based Frenzy Creative, joins Bower Badger who remains the football club mascot.
Stalysaurus was in Stalybridge town centre recently getting to know local people and businesses and handing out Stalybridge Celtic fixture posters.
He has also been to Stalyhill Junior School to promote the ‘£5 Fresh Air Football’ ticket initiative and will be visiting Buckton Vale Primary and Millbrook Primary soon.
The ticket initiative, which is offered to schools, permits one adult and one child to watch Celtic for £5.
Mike Smith, Stalybridge Celtic Foundation’s community development officer, said: “Most people support Manchester City and United or in my case Newcastle United.
“The idea is to try and persuade these people to have Stalybridge Celtic as their second team.”
